About Digby
Q: Who and what is Digby?
A: Digby is a leading mobile commerce service provider. Our goal
is to radically improve the mobile purchasing experience for consumers
around the world. Our flagship service, Digby, combines rich content
from name brand retailers such as Best Buy, Godiva Chocolatier,
and Overstock.com with an intuitive shopping process that is optimized for
mobile devices such as the BlackBerry. Our Powered by Digby program is used by retailers such as 1-800-Flowers.com, Godiva Chocolatier and others to build and support their mobile channel to complement their existing channels such as catalogs, traditional storefronts and e-commerce offerings.
Q: Why is Digby different?
A: We believe that mobility is all about convenience, and mobile device users are often in a hurry. Our core value is to enable people to complete transactions in thirty seconds or less. With our optimized interface users can search for and browse from millions of items quickly and easily. Also, Digby is tightly integrated with a user's handheld data. This allows a user's lifestyle information, data from their calendars, address books and email accounts, to work seamlessly with the buying experience offered by Digby.
Q: I can reach many popular web retailers by
just using the browser on my BlackBerry. Why can't I just buy products
this way?
A: Most web sites are simply not designed for viewing on a mobile phone. Because of this form factor mismatch, most of the content is unusable by the device. Digby transforms the shopping experience by providing a user friendly interface and time saving features such as address book integration, a secure mobile wallet and much more.
Using Digby
Q: Why do you suggest populating the address
book with important personal and professional contacts?
A: Digby uses address book data to quickly populate forms when you are buying products. For example, if you would like to send a gift, simply select that person's name from your address book and the entire recipient form will be automatically filled in. This saves time and often can be the difference between being able to complete a transaction or postponing it until later (adding to the dreaded "to-do" list).
Q: Which devices does Digby support?
A: Digby is compatible with any BlackBerry device with OS version
4.2 or higher. This includes BlackBerry models such as 81x0 (Pearl), 83x0 (Curve), Flip and Bold.
Q: I would like to make my product available
for sale on Digby. What do I need to do?
A: Digby is always looking for products and services that our users
need. Please contact us at partners@digby.com to
find out about becoming a Digby partner.
Q: I would like to change, add or remove my credit
card information in Digby. Where do I do this?
A: In the Settings section of Digby, select the Manage Information
tab to update any of Registration settings.
Q: Does using Digby cost me anything?
A: No. Digby is a free service with NO hidden charges, monthly fees or price mark-ups.
Orders
Q: Can I cancel an order once I have placed it?
A: Your order can be cancelled at the retailer's web site.
Q: Can I change the quantity of an item ordered
once it is in my cart?
A: Yes. Select View Cart from any Digby menu. From the View Cart
screen you can change the quantity ordered for any item. You can
also Select the item (a check box will appear beside the item) and
select Delete from the View Cart menu.
Q: I want to order something from a retailer
that is not on your list. Is there some other way for me to order
this with my BlackBerry?
A: If there is a product that you would like to see added to Digby,
please let us know at info@digby.com.
Q: How can I see the final total of my bill?
A: Before you submit your order you will be shown the final price including taxes as well as Shipping & Handling. In cases where Digby cannot display the final total, a link with estimated shipping costs per vendor will be provided.
Security
Q: Will modifying my firewall settings to allow
this connection compromise my security?
A: No. Digby initiates outbound connections only to digby.com and
other trusted retailers such as Best Buy, Godiva.com and others. Digby
does not leave a connection open and does not accept incoming connections.
Q: Where is my credit card information stored?
A: Your Credit Card information is stored locally on your BlackBerry
and is secured by a password. Your credit card information is sent
over a secure link as part of any order you make on Digby.
Q: I forgot or lost my password for Digby. Can
I have it sent to me?
A: Yes. Please contact us at support@digby.com with Lost Password in the subject line. Please make sure you include the date of birth you specified when registering your coy of Digby. It is important that you send the email from the email address that you used to register with Digby.
