Austin-based Digby widens scope with location-based platform
Since launching in 2006, Austin-based Digby has helped big retailers such as Home Depot and Costco build mobile websites that can be accessed with smartphones.
By downloading an app, customers can shop with their phone just as they would on the company’s website.

The result is Localpoint, a new location-based mobile platform that lets users check in when they enter a store, allowing the retailer to make special offers or other promotions while they have a captive audience.
“For most retailers, up to 99 percent of their revenue still comes from the store,” said Dave Sikora, Digby founder and CEO. “When more than half of their customers are walking in with a smartphone, they want a way to engage them.”
